historic day

this is a post on my class blog so it's geared toward my parents and kids but i wanted to share it!

We had the most wonderful AND historic field trip. We started our day taking a tour of the Governors Mansion. On the way out of the mansion Mary Kay Hunstsman was on her way home. She came straight over to the class, asked where we were from, hugged all of the kids, took us to the old carriage house and showed us the Governors motor bikes, then continued on by taking pictures with each individual child. She said she would sign each picture and send them to me to give to the kids. It was amazing. I cannot believe how genuinely nice she is. After all of that sh e invited our class to come back during the holidays to see the mansion decorated. I'm sure hoping Mr. Little will ok that! What an opportunity. I won't forget it and I hope the kids remember it always, and realize how lucky they are! After that experience we took a walking tour of the historic buildings on South Temple. One of the best bakeries in town is Backer's on South Temple. They are famous for their cupcakes. I illegally ran across the street to buy a treat for after lunch. We then went and had lunch on the lawn at the Capitol building before our tour. Inside the Capitol we saw the new renovations, where the senate meets, and more. We had a wonderful day. Enjoy the slide show!
