Tolman Reunion #19

19 years of family reunions in Star Valley Wyoming with my mom's side of the family. Wow. I can't believe how time flies. This year was a little different than most. We've never had so much rain. 

Day 1 - Drive to cabin with dad. POURED rain the whole way. Stuck in construction and an accident. Took 2 extra hours to get to the cabin.

Day 2 - Rain rain rain. No campfire. Hotdogs on BBQ instead. Jason and Meridith and Jess arrived late due to Jason contracting the swine flu.

Day 3 - No rain but a bit chilly. Golf. Swim. Family fear factor.

Day 4 - Rain. Jackson Hole.

Day 5 - Left cabin at 7 AM. Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day to the Best

How can I say thank you for all of the things my dad has done for me. I could write and write and write. I was looking through pictures and found so many with my dad and the many things we have done together. My dad is a provider, an example, a father and above all a friend. I can honestly say my dad is one of my best friends. I love him so much and hope he has an amazing fathers day. I love you dad!

Cinnamon Bread

Last night I made 41 loaves of cinnamon bread to give to my parent volunteers at school. "Thanks for cinna BURTSTING into my class and RISING to the occasion to make this year wonderful!" Clever right!? I really did have some amazing parents who helped so much this year. If you have children in elementary school whose teacher asks for volunteers, DO IT! It's so much fun for kids to have their parents in the class and the teacher appreciates it more than you'll ever know.

Update

I haven't blogged forever! I had a crazy few weeks getting ready to go off track at work, getting ready for surgery, etc. so here I am! I had surgery on my right foot on the 21st. I am now recovering quite well. My doctor said the healing seems to be ahead of schedule which makes me very happy. Here are few things I wanted to share...

I have a student in my class of whom I love (I love all of them of course). I have become really close with his mom. She brought me these adorable lemon sugar cookie cookie cakes before we went off track. Just one of the many reasons I love teaching.

Jess and I had another Just Be party. I made up a new recipe for orange zest cupcake. I wanted to top them with orange zest but I used it all up. They were yummy and the orange sprinkles looked just as cute!

Avery, Abby & Carson came to visit after my surgery. They sat in front of me and did "yoga". Carson didn't quite get it. They are adorable.

Most of you know I love sushi and who doesn't love rice crispy treat sushi!?!? I was very impressed when Ben brought them to me. They were so yummy!

Mothers & Grandmothers

How lucky am I to still have my amazing Grandma around? I feel so blessed to have her in my life. My Grandma Hazel is my link to my Mom. We love to spend time with her and love her so much! Jess and I took Grandma to lunch for mothers day. We had a very delightful afternoon. She is a hoot. This didn't happen at this lunch but another day when we were talking about our favorite Plates and Palates she said..."I love pasta...I love to go to Taco Bell!" Jess and I laughed SO hard. It made no sense at all. Grandma loves her chalupas almost as much as we love her!
