Anxiety

This is going to be me for the foreseeable future...

Pretty Great

I want my mommy!

I read this article the other day. It's funny how I still have days where I just want my mommy...

Do you know how sometimes your kids desperately want you? They need a hug or a snuggle or a cuddle when they’re not feeling well. Well, today I wanted my mama.
When does that stop?
I didn’t wake up wanting or needing my mom. In fact, I got up this morning, and woke up my kids. I went into McKaelen’s room and snuggled with her. I even said to her, “Will you always want to cuddle with me?”
She said she wasn’t sure about that, but she would always love me. That was good enough for me because at that moment I knew I didn’t always need my own mother for comfort.
But later, I went to the dentist and got some cavities filled. And had a lot of anesthesia. And a lot of drilling. And then I came home. To nobody.
And then I wanted my mommy. In the worst way.
I crawled into bed and under the covers. I wanted someone to care for me. But my mom lives far away. I would have liked for her to be next to me, to hold my hand and to put a cool cloth on my head, and to tell me the anesthesia would wear off and that I would be okay. I knew it was kind of foolish, but right then, I felt as if I were nine years old and I needed my mom.
It kind of sucked.
I’m glad my mom’s still around, and that I can call her if I need to, that I get to see her many times throughout the year.
I’m glad that I get to be a mom, that I can comfort my own kids when they need comforting, and that I can snuggle with them whenever they – okay, whenever I – need a snuggle.
Parenting. It’s hard. Whether you’re the giver or the receiver, whether you want to be the mommy, or you want your mommy. I love you Mom!

Keep Calm and...

These have become quite popular. I want one in my house just not sure which one to choose! Keep calm is all it needs to say for me!

Inpiration

I went to Deseret Book the other day to pick something up really fast. I saw this quote by Brigham Young and it just hit me so hard...

There are places on the earth where the Lord can come and dwell, if He pleases.

It's not that it was knew knowledge to me, it's that I needed to remember it. I have read a few books on the afterlife.  I know that if we need someone who is on the other side, they are able to be with us. I am so thankful for that.

Later while I was reading my scriptures I read 2 Nephi 10:23-25.

Therefore, acheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are bfree to cact for yourselves—to dchoose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, areconcile yourselves to the bwill of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the cgrace of God that ye are dsaved.

Wherefore, may God araise you from death by the power of the resurrection, and also from everlasting death by the power of the batonement, that ye may be received into the ceternal kingdom of God, that ye may praise him through grace divine. Amen.

I love the whole thing but I mostly love how it says cheer up your hearts. We are meant to have joy! Also, we are free to act for ourselves and to choose. We can't choose how we always feel, but we can choose to make our feelings in line with the Savior. That is something I am going to work on so I can receive eternal glory.

It will all work out...

My dear mother in law gave me this quote. There are some changes going on in my family. I don't always do well with change. It was nice to read this and know things will work out.

"It isn’t as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don’t worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. … If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley

Angels

When angels visit us,
we do not hear the rustle of wings,
nor feel the feathery touch of the breast of a dove;
but we know their presence by the love they create in our hearts.

My Dad gave my sister and I this necklace for Christmas. Jewelry has been a tradition since my Mom died. We weren't quite sure we loved what he picked this year but I know why he picked it. Our Mom is our guardian  angel. She watches over and protects us. I miss her. But I felt her love today.

Jonah & The Whale

This is so worth watching. I'm going to have this little girl help Eliza with her first talk someday...
